              While in Scott's drug store Tuesday morning
            CAPT. THOS. H. BOTHAM called MR. PAGET in from
            the walk and exclaimed "Kill me," "Kill me,"
            about the same time reaching into his inside
            coat pocket. As he made this movement MR.
            THOMAS SLATTERY  stepped quickly from behind
            the counter grabbed the Captain's arm and took
            a revolver away from him. The Captain seemed
            to be in great mental trouble, had been drink-
            ing heavily of late and it is thought he in-
            tended to commit suicide. He was taken home,
            and his friends hope he will be all right from
            this time.
