The circumstances of the case as they have been related to us, seem to show on the part of the murderer, one of the most wanton, unprevoked assaults ever made by one human being upon another. - It seems from the facts as appeared in testimony, that young BOYER was harnessing his team, when one of the horses, left un- hitched, started off down the lane a short distance from the barn into the grove. - At this Young BOYER became very much enraged -- and by the way he is reported to be a man of very violent temper -- and catching the horse he com- menced to kick it in a most unmerciful manner. His father remonstrated him for thus treating his (the father's) horse, to which young BOYER responded by saying that if he did not shut up he would "hit him a dig," or words to that effect. The father said to him, raising his hat as he spoke, if you wish to strike your old father do it. Whereupon he hit him with a fence stake, knocking him down, and striking him twice after he was down, from the effect of which he died on Thursday last. Young BOYER was immediately arrested and is now in jail awaiting his trial for murder, before the Circuit Court. ===========================================================================
