McKAY, of Sebewaing, that another sad accident occurred on Thursday last, at the Sauble fisheries, on the west side of Saginaw Bay, in which three men, named AUGUSTUS ANGEL, CHARLES GOURLEY, and WM. POLLARD, lost their lives by drowning. They were coming ashore in a fishing-boat loaded with goods from the steamer Forest Queen. It was blowing a perfect gale at the time, and when near the shore the boat was capsized, the tops of her masts striking the rail of the vessel commanded by our informant. Before assistance could be rendered, they sank to rise no more. Great efforts were made to save them, but without avail. Search was immediately made for the bodies of the unfortunate men, but only that of POLLARD had been recovered up to the time Capt. McKAY left the Sauble. MR. GOURLEY was a resident of Bay City, where his family now are, and was regarded as a good citizen. NOTE: the 1860 census of Hampton Twp., Bay county, MI shows the widow, LOUISA GOURLEY, and 4 children; Edward, age 8; Louisa, age 5; Thomas, age 3 and Ann, who was only 4 months old at the time. ===============================================================================
