The body of SOPHIA, 11, was found in a lane, while the body of MARY, 9, was found about 40 rods distant in a plowed field. The body of the third child is believed to be in the Kaw- kawlin river. The three children disappeared while on their way home from school March 26. The children are believed to have fallen into the river and position of the bodies indicated that the older girl had pulled her sister from the water and then, after fail- ing to revive her, started up the lane to a farmhouse to summon aid. She is believed to have fallen when only a short distance from her goal. Her cries were not heard because of the severe storm which was raging. ===========================================================================
