In the rear of No. 3 hose house the city owns a shed in which wagons and similar city property is kept. This shed has rested next to the ground for some time and the foundation has been giving away. Accordingly orders were given to dig holes and place posts under the building. This morning one of the diggers struck a wooden box which more than excited his curiosity. Within it was another box and within the second box, a lot of human bones. It was the last resting place of a former resident of Bay City. This incident recalls the fact that on the corner of Saginaw street and Columbus avenue in the early day was located a cemetery in which many early settlers were buried. Some of the bodies were removed and placed in the newer cemeteries, but there were many graves that were unmarked and when foundations for buildings were built on the property it was a common thing to dig into a coffin. ===============================================================================
