H. MOON slipped in the snow and fell beneath the engine wheels in the Michigan Central yards here at about 2 o'clock this morning, re- ceiving injuries from which he died two hours later. MOON was a section boss. The trainmen summoned DR. TAYLOR of the village, and he at once advised removal to Hastings, where an operation might be performed. The locomotive was detached from the freight and coupled to the way car in which the in- jured man had been placed. The special made the trip of 12 miles over tracks buried in snow in 11 minutes. It was found that MOON'S right leg was ground to pieces from his ankle to his body. His right hip and his left ankle were broken. There was a gash in his head, and he was injured internally. He died shortly after his leg was amputated. ===============================================================================
