         Middleville, Mich., August 6. - While bathing
       Sunday afternoon FRED KASSLER, a farmer a mile
       and a half south of here, was drowned. He had
       stayed in nearly and hour and was exhausted, as
       were also his companions, who were thus unable
       to go to his rescue.
