Tribune 26 May 1905 Remains of WILLIAM B. EATON Taken To Hastings, Mich. Escort of Three Hundred Men March to Depot at an Early Morning Hour With an escort of 300 friends the remains of WILLIAM B. EATON, who met such a violent death in this city, last Wednesday afternoon were taken to the Grand Trunk Depot this morning and shipped to Hastings, Mich., his former home, where the funeral will be held this afternoon. The escort of 300 men represented South Bend aerie of Eagles, South Bend lodge No. 235, B.P.O.E., and the Electrical Workers' union, No. 132. In all of these organizations MR. EATON was an honored and enthusiastic member. Besides the brother, A. G. EATON, who arrived from Hastings, Mich., yesterday those who accom- panied the remains to Hastings, Mich., were WILLIAM BUETTNER and WILL PARRY, representing the Elks, WILLIAM SINGER and W. P. CLARK, repre- senting the Eagles and GEORGE SIMPSON and GEORGE MYERS representing the Electrical Workers' union. MISS MARGARET C. GABLE, the young lady, who was soon to wed MR. EATON, accompanied by her sister and brother were also members of the funeral party. ===============================================================================
