         HILL CEMETERY, YANKEE SPRINGS TWP., BARRY CO., MICHIGAN
         
         This is the burying ground of the LUTHER HILL family who
       came to Barry County in the fall of 1834 from Gates, Monroe
       County, New York. In 1838 CALVIN HILL built a home on his
       farm and later in a little grove of evergreens nearby.
       ORANGE son of C. & S. HILL was buried, the first grave in
       this private cemetery. The farm is in section 11 Yankee
       Springs township just west of Hill's Corners about 3 miles
       north of Yankee Springs on the Middleville road. The old
       farm home is still standing but in a rundown condition.
