Mr. COSGROVE was born in Uxbridge, Ontario, October 4, 1852, and was married in 1885 at Grand Marais to MARY E. RICHMOND. After living there but a short time he and his wife located at Baraga, which has since been his home with the exception of the years he served as sheriff and the past year, when he has re- sided in L'Anse. Besides his widow, he is survived by four sons, NORMAN of Marine City, and THOMAS, CHESTER and ALLEN of L'Anse; two daughters, Mrs. CHARLOTTE A. BABCOCK of Benton Harbor and Mrs. T. G. BELANGER of L'Anse; four brothers, THOMAS, PATRICK and JAMES of Canada and MICHAEL of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. SARAH DILLON of Canada and Mrs. MARY TUBMAN of Los Angeles, Calif.; as well as nine grandchildren. Mr. COSGROVE was for four years sheriff of Baraga county, also serving as justice of the peace of Baraga township and is well known in the district. His many friends will be grieved to learn of his demise. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but it is expected that services will be held Saturday morning at L'Anse Sacred Heart church, with interment in L'Anse cemetery. ===========================================================================
