         A Murder at Mancelona
         Special Dispatch to the Detroit Free Press
         
         Grand Rapids, March 7 - At seven o'clock this morning
       HENRY EGERT, a single man aged thirty five, was shot and
       instantly killed by GOTTLIEB FRANKEN, with whom he had
       an altercation, four miles north of Mancelona. FRANKEN
       was arrested and taken to Mancelona for examination.

         The town of Mancelona is all excitement over the exam-
       ination of GODFREY FRANKEY for the murder of EGERT. The
       case was called, and the Sheriff found it necessary to
       disarm the crowd before proceeding. The accused and the
       deceased had many friends in the room, and the least
       word would have led to bloodshed.
