The Alpena Weekly Argus
January 10, 1877

           Another Citizen Gone.

           We are pained to announce the death of one of Alpena's most
         enterprising citizens, MR. ALFRED RICHARDSON, at his residence
         on State street, on Friday afternoon last, after a brief but
         painful illness.
           The deceased leaves a wife, four children, and a whole
         community to mourn his untimely departure.
           MR. RICHARDSON had been a resident of Alpena for the past
         ten years, and had been an active citizen and prominent mem-
         ber of society, - one ever ready and willing to lend his aid
         in any and every thing tending to the welfare of the community
         in which he lived and the public generally. He was a kind hus-
         band, an affectionate father, a generous friend, and a worthy
         citizen. But his earthly career has been finished, and he has
         gone to that "land from whence no traveler returneth."
