The Alpena Weekly Argus
November 3, 1880 


           MEADE N. S. MACARTNEY, one of the oldest residents
         of this city, and who has for years been afflicted with
         asthma, died at his residence on Friday evening last, and
         the funeral took place on Sunday afternoon. The deceased
         was 58 years of age. He leaves a wife and one daughter.
