GEORGE W. HASKELL, a gentleman widely known in the eastern part of the State, died at his residence in Hodgdon, of pneumonia, after four days illness, Wednesday, Dec. 30. He has been the most prominent Free Baptist clergyman in Aroostook county for many years. He was a member of the Legislature of 1818 as a Whig, and as a Morrill-Whig in 1855, and as a Repub- lican in 1866 and 1867, representing the southern Aroos- took district. For thirty years no man had so extensive influence in the section as MR. HASKELL. He is a native of New Gloucester, where many of his relatives now reside. ===========================================================================
