         AROOSTOOK COUNTY, ME.
         
         Court House at Houlton, is in the N.E. and N. part
       of the State. Watered by the upper St. John's and its
       southern tributaries. Mostly unsettled. Soil, a lime-
       stone formation, favorable to wheat, and very pro-
       ductive to other grains and grasses.
