She was born in Minot, Me., about 97 years ago, and has lived with her son for the past 14 years. She was a remarkably bright and smart old lady and retained her memory until she had to take to her bed, which was about four weeks before her decease. She had a family of seven children, six boys and one girl, of whom three sons survive her, one being in Maine, one out west, and the third and oldest being Mr. MARSHALL WHITTEMORE of this town. The funeral was held at one o'clock Sunday p. m., Rev. M. F. Mevis officiating. Transcriber's Note: Return of Deaths, Southboro, 1895-1896, gives her name as ALTHEA (Crooker) WHITTEMORE, daughter of WILLIAM Crooker. Date of death 12 November, 1896.
