 DEATH NOTICE

           CLAUDE A. SMITH, 58, 1909 N. 1st St., died at 5:25 a.m. Monday
        at Union Hospital.  He was a member of the DAV.

           Surviving are three daughters, Miss BETTY JO SMITH, Mrs. ANNIE
        PEARL TUBEVILLE and Mrs. CLAUDIA MAE RICHARDSON, all of Terre
        Haute; a son, JAMES L., Terre Haute; the mother,  Mrs. PEARL SIMS,
        Terre Haute; a brother, HAROLD, Augusta, Ga.; and a grandchild.

        Services are pending at the Bedino Peace Chapel.

 OBITUARY

           Services for CLAUDE A. SMITH, 58, 1909 N. 1st St., who died
        Monday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bedino Peace Chapel,
        with the Rev. ELMER STRAIN officiating.
           Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Military grave side
        services will be conducted by American Legion Post 346 and VFW No.
        927.
