One of the children was a Terre Haute boy and the other two resided at Montezuma. Saturday afternoon, Phillip Michael Lane, 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lane, Terre Haute, lost his life in a lake at a summer camp for children near Washington, Ind. The Lanes live at 2405 South Sixth Street. The camp where the Lane boy drowned, known as Camp Illiana, is operated by a number of Christian Churches of Indiana and Illinois. The boy accompanied his mother to the camp Saturday to return several local children who had been vacationing at the camp. About 20 minutes after Mrs. Lane and the youngster arrived at the camp the boy approached the lake. It was said that the child lost his balance while attempting to throw a stone into the water and fell into about four and a half feet of water. The body was recovered within a short time. The Lane family is affiliated with the Maple Avenue Christian Church. Besides the parents, the child is survived by one brother, Robert Edward, and one sister, Nicky Ann. The body was brought to the Cross Funeral Home Saturday evening. ===========================================================================
