He had been ill for the past two months and on last Friday an oper- ation was performed in an effort to prolong his life. Mr. REES was born in Aberystwyth, Wales, on December 17, 1849, amd had been a resi- dent of West Lafayette since 1898, residing at 222 Harrison street. He was a stair builder by trade and for a number of years was employed by the Henry Taylor Lumber company. He is sur- vived by a widow and two sons. ==========================================================================
