McCUEN, for several years proprietor of the Bramble house, died suddenly at 11:30 o'clock Friday morning at his home, 807 Columbia street. Mr. McCUEN had been in poor health for some time, and the immediate cause of death was heart trouble. While his condition had been ser- ious his demise was sudden, as Mr. McCUEN had not been bedfast and was up and about his home for a short time Friday morning. Mr. McCUEN was born in Washington, D. C., on March 22, 1850. During his early life he was em- ployed as a traveling salesman and for many years was in the employ of the Ried-Murdoch wholesale grocers, in Chicago. He came to Lafayette more than twenty years ago and on June 17, 1901, was married to Miss MAGGIE CORBETT, who survives. The deceased had no other close relatives. He was a member of St. Mary's church and also belonged to Lafayette Lodge No. 143, B. P. O. Elks. He had a large acquaintance throughout the state and was popular with all who knew him. Following his retirement from the Branble house, Mr. McCUEN engaged in the real estate business and for a time was associated with B. W. PRICE. He had not been actively engaged in business, however, for more than a year. The funeral will be conducted from St. Mary's church Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Very Rev. John R. Dinnen will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. ==========================================================================
