                   JOHN L. FITZGERALD died Tuesday morning at
                 10:20 o'clock, at St. Elizabeth hospital where
                 he had been ill a month with pneumonia. Mr.
                 FITZGERALD was born June 10, 1853, in Ireland,
                 and he came to America when he was twenty-four
                 years old. He was married in this city thirty-
                 eight years ago to Miss ELIZABETH MACKEASY and
                 three years later they came to Lafayette for
                 residence, having lived here since. Besides his
                 widow, he is survived by the following children:
                 MARY, JOHN, JR., and PAUL. He also leaves a
                 brother, P. L. FITZGERALD, of this city. The
                 deceased was engaged for many years in business
                 at 514 Salem street. He was a member of St. Mary's
                 church, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Catholic
                 Knights of America.
