WILLIAMS - In Angola, May 17, 1878, at the residence of her son, Prof. L. R. WILLIAMS, Mrs. LAURA A. WILLIAMS; aged 71 years, 1 month and 14 days. Deceased was born in Pompey, Onondaga county, New York, April 3, 1807. Her maiden name was KETCHUM; she was mar- ried to HEMAN E. WILLIAMS in 1827, and removed with him, to the West in October, 1844, settling near Flint, this county (then known as Thompson's Mills), and in the fol- lowing spring removed to Branch county, Mich. Two years later they returned to the East and remained there till 1867, then returned to Michigan. Her husband died at Coldwater, Mich., in 1869, after which the widow had her home with her children, remaining in that State till the fall of 1875, when she came to this town and resided with her son up to the time of her death. Mrs. WILIAMS was the mother of five children - one daughter and four sons. The youngest son is dead, the daughter resides in New York, two of the sons in Coldwater, Mich., and the other one is Superintendent of the public schools of this place. Mrs. WILLIAMS had for many years been a faithful member of the Baptist Church, though during the latter years of her life, since her last removal to the West, she had been without a home in the Church. However she still retained the letter she had brought from the society with whom she had a name and as long as her health would permit was always in attendance at devine services. ==========================================================================
