BOWERSOCK, died at the family residence, in Angola, at about 7 o'clock last Wednesday evening, Feb. 27, 1878; aged 42 years and 7 months. The struggle is over. The mortal has at last re- linquished its vitality and the spirit is at rest. For months that terrible disease, cancer, has been steadily and persistently eating away the life of the patient and she suffered all the agonies of death - perhaps it would not be too much to say death itself, during the last week before the spirit took its flight. But through all, we are told she bore her intense suffering with heroic fortitude and patience. Meanwhile her devoted husband and friends did all in their power to relieve and soothe her pain. The deceased was a daughter of THOMAS MUGG, who came from the State of New York to this county when she was about 2 years of age. They settled upon a farm near this place when there were but few houses, and those of very modest pretentions, to mark the site of what is now the prosperous town of Angola. MARY remained upon the farm until she was married, since which time her home has been in this place. GILBERT MUGG, her brother, is now in business here, and a sister, Mrs. DAVID JOHNS also lives in town. Two other sisters live in this county. One sister, Mrs. HENRY SQUIERS, died in this place some years since. A large circle of friends lament her de- parture and the bereaved husband has their syn- pathies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Angola Herald Wednesday, March 6, 1878 THOMAS MUGG, the venerable father of the lat Mrs. BOWERSOCK, was in attendance at the funeral of his daughter last Friday.
