                Mr. ALANSON ABBEY, whose death occurred last Thursday, at
	     the residence of his son, Mr. JACOB ABBEY, near Pleasant Lake,
	     in this county, was one of the old settlers - one of the pio-
	     neers, having emigrated from Ohio in 1838.  He was born in the
	     State of New York in 1792, from which State he removed to Ohio
	     in 1819, in the 27th year of his age.  He was a participant in
	     the stirring events of the war of 1812.  He has lived a life
	     of modest usefulness, was a good citizen and worthy christian.
	     He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends. The funer-
	     al services were held at Pleasant Lake, Saturday the 24th
	     instant, Rev. W. P. Aylsworth, of this place, officiating.
