O. JACKSON, of this city, was in Frankfort Wednesday attending the funeral of her mother, Mrs. ELIZABETH SHIELDS, who paased away there last Sun- day following a four weeks' illness. Mrs. SHIELDS was born in Carroll county March 11, 1840, and she was married February 9, 1860, to HUGH SHIELDS, whose death occurred in 1904. The following children sur- vive: FRANK M. SHIELDS, Monticello; MANFORD A. and WILLIAM SHIELDS, Indianapolis; Mrs. JENNIE EWING and Miss MARY J. SHIELDS, Frankfort; C. A. MURPHY and Mrs. PHILIP LESLIE, of Delphi, are brother and sister of the deceased. Rev. E. W. Dunlavy, pastor of the M. E. church at Frankfort, officiated at the services and interment was in the Rossville cemetery. ==========================================================================
