The following foreword is found in this book
regarding their recordings of Warren County
Cemeteries.


         FOREWORD
         
         The Mildred Warner Washington Chapter D. A. R. has
         been given the following vital statistics by Mr. Hugh
         R. Moffett, editor of the Monmouth Review Atlas. This
         information was collected some twenty years ago from
         grave stones in the small family cemeteries in Warren
         County. At that time many of the cemeteries had been
         abandoned and the stones piled along fences; some were
         used as stepping stones in farm yards and the burying
         grounds had gone back to farm land and brush patches.
         
         During the past twenty years much more has been destroyed
         and we are grateful to have this much to add to our
         genealogical records.

         (Transcriber's Note: The cemetery readings in this book, as
          mentioned above, were 20 some years old at the time of publication.
          In the late 1930's many of the graves and tombstones were removed
          to other locations in an effort to consolidate family and neighbor-
          hood burial grounds into more permanent locations. For example:
          both of the only 2 burials found here in Parker II were later
          removed to Monmouth (aka Glendale) Cemetery.)
