                   Mrs. ASA THOMPSON, a well-known colored
                 woman, almost white, died at the poor farm
                 yesterday. She had been demented for a year
                 or more. Only a few years ago she was a fine-
                 looking and vigorous woman, by many considered
                 quite handsome.
