In Woodstock, Jan. 12th, of quick Consumption, ELLEN S. wife of LUTHER FINCH, in the 32d year of her age. At Crystal Lake, Jan. 6th, 1870, of disease of the brain, SILAS OLMSTEAD, in the eightieth year of his age. The deceased was born in Wilton, Conn., April 10, 1790, was married, March 31st, 1812. Moved to Cayuga County, N.Y., in 1815, became interested in the subject of religion, himself and companion joined the Presbyterian Church in 1819, soon after he was elected ruling Elder, which position he occupied nearly thirty years discharging his official duties desiring the peace, purity and prosperity of the church and the glory of God. In 1825 he moved to Portage, Le* Co., where by years of industry steady habits and christian sympathy he endeared himself to the community in which he lived. In 1848 he moved to Monroe Co., there joined the Congregational Church, it being more convenient. In 1854 he removed to Illinois, settled at Crystal Lake, joined the Congregatonal Church, becoming an able supporter and a constant attendant upon the means of grace until a few weeks before his departure, in his last days he was un- conscious, surrounded by kind friends and sympa- thizing neighbors, anxious to relieve his suffering. He leaves the companion of his youth, with whom he has happily lived over 57 years, to mourn his loss only for a little while and then to be re- united where there will be no separation. ===========================================================================
