The steamer was instantly stopped, a small boat lowered and unsuccessful search made for the unfortunate man. STANLEY was about 21 years of age and had been employed as wheels- man on the boat. His home is in Chicago, though he has a sister residing in the Third ward of this city. The vessel had barely cleared the light-house piers at the time the accident took place. ===============================================================================
