                   LEWISTON, Idaho, Jan. 27. - Word was
                 received this morning that HIRAM SMITH
                 of Lewiston, had died the previous night
                 in San Diego, Cal., where he had been
                 during the past three months.  HIRAM
                 SMITH had been engaged in business here
                 at intervals for several years and was
                 highly thought of.  He was 33 years old.
                 The remains will be brought here for
                 burial.
