JOHN TEEPLE, of South Fork township, Jackson county, was bitten on the inside of the ankle by a Rattlesnake last Tuesday, while gathering blackberries. He was in company with his mother and some boys, and was distant from home about three and a half miles. He was taken home as quickly as possible, and every means ****ed by parents and physicians to counteract the effect of the poison, but without avail. He lived in great pain until Sunday morning at four o'clock, when he expired. He said he felt the shock of the snake's stroke through his whole body, and the snake in drawing back made quite a large wound. ===============================================================================
