MIDDAUGH was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, August 11, 1825. His father, JAMES MIDDAUGH was a farmer. His mother died when he was young. His father's death occurred in 1863, in Allen county, Indiana, where the family had removed in 1853. In 1865, NATHAN B. moved to Warren county, Illinois, and in the fall of 1868, to Henry county, Iowa. He remained there until 1873, when he came to Cass county. He arrived here in the month of March, having pre- viously visited the county and purchased the farm he now owns and occupies on section 3, of Bear Grove township. He was married September 10, 1846, to SARAH R. BELL, who was born in Belmont county, Ohio, in 1827. They have seven children — JAMES F., a farmer, residing in Washington Territory; ANNA, wife of WILLIAM J. FARMER, of Dakota; ALICE E., wife of GEORGE GLAZIER, of Cincinnati, Ohio; MINERVA J., wife of L. E. MILLER, of Atlantic township; KENYON R., and CLIFFORD R., in Dakota, ELMER E., at home. ===========================================================================
