Three persons were killed and two seriously injured this morning at 9 o'clock in a railroad crossing acci- dent at Jakin, seven miles west of this city, when east bound Atlantic Coast Line train number 214 struck a touring car with five passengers. The dead are S. D. ZORN, 35, MRS. S. D. ZORN, 32; EMMETT ZORN, 14. The injured are DIXIE ZORN, 12, and BARNEY JUSTICE, 23. The fatal accident occurred directly in front of the Atlantic Coast Line railroad depot in Jakin. The car was driven by the 14 year old boy, EMMETT ZORN. It is supposed that when he saw the train approaching he turned the car in the direction of the train hoping to miss it. The locomotive struck the car with full force, picking it up and hurling it and all of its occupants into a box car standing on a side track near by. The three dead were badly mangled and were killed instantly. The injured are in a local hospital and are expected to recover. A small dog owned by the dead youth was also killed in the accident, its body being found lying beside the youth. All of the dead and injured were residents of Jakin. ===========================================================================
