           WILLIAM HURD, a member of the firm of HURD & LEOD, grocers,
        Manistee, aged 33, was found dead in his bed Monday morning.
        He attended to his business as usual Saturday, but complained
        of feeling chilly at the time of retiring at 10 p.m. He apparent-
        ly died without a struggle, as he was lying on his back and his
        hands folded across his chest. He was a prominent member of the
        Odd Fellows and Royal Arcanum societies, and was elected super-
        visor on the democratic ticket last Monday.
