The Manistee Broadaxe
October 9, 1886

              DEATH OF MRS. HAINES - This community
            was profoundly surprised Thursday morn-
            ing, to learn that Mrs. HAINES, the wife
            of Mr. L. M. HAINES, the mill owner, had
            died the previous night very suddenly of
            heart disease. She was perfectly well,
            apparently, Wednesday evening, and sat
            out on the sloop some time in the early
            evening. She had had other attacks, how-
            ever, for some years past, and it has
            been feared for some time that she might
            be suddenly taken off. The funeral ser-
            vices will be held at the M. E. church,
            to-morrow, at 10:30 a.m.
