NICHOLSON Tuesday's Eagle contained the brief announcement of the fact that CAPT. ALEXANDER NICHOLSON was dead at the home of his son, CAPT. WM. NICHOLSON, 178 Quimby street, near Plainfield avenue, at the ad- vanced age of 82 years. The old captain came from Wyandotte two years ago to live with his son here, and is well known as an old-time lake captain. He has three sons following the lakes and all are masters of vessels, CAPT. WM. NICHOLSON being mas- ter of the splendid Goodrich steamer Atlanta, ply- ing on the Chicago-Grand Haven route. He was one of a splendid type of Scotch-American citizens whose labors have helped wonderfully in develop- ing the great west of twenty to fifty years ago. - Grand Rapids Eagle. ===============================================================================
