MARVIN were loaded with lumber and downbound from Baraga, MI., to Tonawanda, N.Y., in tow of the C. F. CURTIS, when a horrific storm raked Lake Superior. The PETERSON was bringing up the rear. Early reports claimed that after her tow line broke she was driven ashore, but that was laster proven to be in error. Among the lost crew: Captain John V. Walker, Tonawanda, N.Y.
