ARLINGTON was loaded with wheat for Owen Sound when it foundered in during a storm. Sixteen of her crew were taken off by the Canadian steamer COLLINGWOOD which had been following her. Capt. Fred Burke reportedly refused to leave his ship and waved to his crew from the pilot house. ARLINGTON was without wireless equipment at the time. F. P. JONES (off. # 211084) was sold Canadian in 1919 renamed GLENCADAM with official no. 138219. Renamed ARLINGTON after sale in 1925 to Matthews Steamship Co. Ltd.
