The prisoner shoved the deputy sheriff into the cell and skipped out and locked the able officer in. He then proceeded to clamber over the fence at his leisure, and has not been seen since. NICK bawled so lustily that the neighbors supposed the jail was on fire and proceeded with axes and buckets to save the jail and found the deputy sheriff safely locked up. Verily sheriff DICKINSON has some able and trustworthy deputies. We have a very worthy boy who "turns crank" for the Record on publishing days, and blacks boots between times, whom we have the honor to name as a candidate for the position of deputy sheriff in case Sheriff DICKINSON should make up his mind to strengthen the force. ==========================================================================
