Pleasants County, WV -- 1860 census images

There are 75 pages (and image files) for the1860 Pleasants County WV census.

Volunteers are needed to transcribe index information from the image-files. If you are interested in helping to transcribe the index, contact the USGenWeb Census Project's, West Virginia Census Assignment Coordinator (email link is on the following webpage)
http://www.us-census.org/states/westvirginia/

After the index is created, the USGenWeb Census Project® will link each name in the index to the scanned image page where that name appears.

The name of each census-image-file is the hand-written number on the line following "Page No. _____". When this census was microfilmed the pages may have been dropped and mixed up when they were picked up. The pages on the microfilm are not in the sequence the Enumerator recorded the pages. The image-files were named with the hand-written number that was placed on the pages by the Enumerator in the sequence he recorded them.

There are three districts (No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3) and four Post-Offices mentioned (Grape Island, Hebron, St. Marys, and Willow Island).

The following list shows the 1860 Pleasants County, West Virginia census page numbers (and links to the scanned census image files).

After the index is created, the USGenWeb Census Project® will link each name in the index to the scanned image page where that name appears.
